Description

Come along and join Thames21 to take part in a cleanup along the river side for the plasticblitz . We also have the option for those who are interested in plastic pollution to become litter detectives and categorise a small section of the litter found into categories. This data will also be used for InNo Plastics - https://www.innoplastic.eu/

The Plasticblitz concept

Throughout the Thames basin, numerous grassroots community groups are hard at work raising awareness of plastic pollution, cleaning up their local area and lobbying corporations to reduce their plastic footprint.

The Thames & Tributaries Plasticblitz is an annual event that aims to engage as many community groups and Environment Agency teams as possible with taking part in a simultaneous litter pick and data collection activity around their local river between the 17th and the 25th September 2022.

We look forward to welcoming you to our event. Both new and existing Thames21 volunteers are encouraged to attend. This event is suitable to anyone (over the age of 10 with an adult) who has an interest in plastic pollution or if you want to help monitor and improve the Thames river.

This is an event designed for the community to engage the local public with the river and not for corporates. If you are interested in a bespoke corporate volunteer day. Please visit our website https://www.thames21.org.uk/get-involved-2/corporatevolunteer

Please make sure you have suitable weather appropriate clothing for the day.
