About this Masterclass
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is proud to offer a series of masterclasses to individuals and organisations who work with young people based on our youth social action experience delivering peer led programmes.
The Facilitation Foundations masterclass is the first in the series of FYA masterclasses designed to support those who are working with young people to understand the role of a facilitator for youth led work and what makes effective facilitation when working with young people.
The masterclass will include sections on the following:
· What is youth led work
· Group Agreements / Group Values
· Ingredients of a good session & a facilitator
· Check ins and Energy levels
· Examples of effective and less effective facilitation
· Inclusivity and incorporating different learning styles
· Facilitating challenging conversations
· Youth led and adult led balances & power
· Troubleshooting – group peer support using solution focussed approaches
Who should attend?
Anyone who is interested in developing their facilitation skills to deliver interactive workshops with young people through a youth led lens.
The aim is to develop facilitation skills exploring best practice and consider what creates and makes an environment for young people to participate, engage, and share experiences.
